My Training

The Gentle Sleep Coach Program is the first and most extensive professional sleep coaching certification program available. I have accomplished the 80+ hours of training as a Gentle Sleep Coach developed by Kim West LCSW-C, which covers a wide range of sleep related topics including:

  • Biology of sleep
  • Creating Secure Attachment
  • Postpartum Depression, instructed by leading specialist Dr. Shoshana Bennett
  • GERD and sleep, instructed by Dr. Anthony Loizides, Pediatric Gastroentrologist
  • Medical Conditions Effecting Sleep, instructed by Dr. Lewis Kass, Director of Children’s Sleep Center





4&5 Month Program (40+hours of Training)

Applying Gentle Sleep Coach solutions that are age appropriate determined by evidence-based guidelines that reflect topics such as:

  • 4 month old sleep regression
  • 7 elements of infant’s well being
  • Creating healthy routines and feeding schedules
  • Sleep Coaching techniques for the younger baby
  • Signs of approaching 5 month milestone
  • Gentle Sleep solutions that are effective for the younger baby

As a Certified Gentle Sleep Coach, I receive ongoing advanced training and support through regular professional development classes, as well as through weekly supervision and advanced training. The GSC community works together to help families get better sleep all around the world through our social networking, support groups and conferences.

My goal is to join in the mission of helping one family at a time, all over the world in becoming better sleepers.
The Gentle Sleep Coach philosophy was developed by Kim West LCSW-C, The Sleep Lady ® because she found so many parents had difficulty following through with a sleep coaching program that they feared would damage their child emotionally or filled them with so much guilt they couldn’t follow through. The gentle Sleep Lady Shuffle helps babies 6 months and older learn how to fall asleep, and back to sleep, on their own without using cry-it-out methods.

All babies cry, it is their way of communicating with you. I cannot promise you there will be no tears, however you will not be expected to listen to endless crying and just ignore the crying. Together, we will develop a strategy to acknowledge your child’s protests, but push forward with building a supportive approach to teaching your little one to fall asleep.

Together we will build a plan that includes what you and your baby need. If you are breastfeeding, and want to continue, this can be included in the sleep plan.

Even if you or a sibling is room sharing with your baby it is possible to sleep coach.
